Lettre à Ma Chère Moi-Même
Artist Statement
Lettre à Ma Chère Moi-Même (Letter to My Dearest Self) is a video work created during LAF 2025: Larroque Arts Festival, which took place from 25 July to 1 August 2025 at La Vieille Poste (The Old Post Office) in Larroque, France. Originally converted into a working post office in 1909, this now-disused historic building became the central venue for the festival. The event was curated by Kenneth G. Hay of Moorland Productions.
While in Larroque, I found myself reflecting deeply on the contrast between my current life in London and my past experiences living in various parts of Europe. The creative and contemplative atmosphere of Larroque reminded me of what I had been missing, something that had quietly slipped away during the past two years since I relocated to London.
In response, I chose to write a letter to myself, a gesture of care and encouragement, urging myself to do what I wanted and needed, to remain true to my path and continue pursuing what matters most. Lettre à Ma Chère Moi-Même is more than an expression of feeling; it is also a personal strategy, a quiet manifesto for the life I aspire to live and still believe in.
