Artist Statement

Sei Bella (You are Beautiful) is a sound and text-based artwork where I explore the parallels between language and identity.

 

Language is ever-changing and shaped by time and context; a single word can hold multiple meanings, and different people can interpret the same word in various ways.

 

Similarly, identity is not a fixed or singular concept. It is fluid, constantly shifting as we present ourselves in different ways depending on the situation, whether deliberately or through how others perceive us.

 

Both language and identity represent multiplicity, fluidity, and fragmentation. As in Sei Bella, identity is constructed through fragments of language in abstract form, reflecting how both are endlessly evolving and multifaceted.
