Artist Statement

​

The Middle of Nowhere consists of two parts; they are Remains and Inner Peace, respectively. They represent my mental state during the confinement by the pandemic.

 

The confinement restricts our physical activity; it challenges our understanding of limitation, especially in the area of relationship, capability, strength and faith. I felt that I was in the middle of nowhere, somewhere that I would have lost, confused and doubt.

 

Then, what are the remains left behind? And how can we find our inner peace? These are the concerns that I needed to confront and examine in this unexpected confinement.
