Artist Statement

A Daughter's Love Letters To Her Parents is a series of twelve love letters and video art that are written by an imaginative daughter.

​

The concept of this work comes from a casual chat with my parents; I discovered that I have never asked about their love story. Hereafter, I found out more not only about my parents’ love story, and also the stories from their generation. It aroused my curiosity and imagination of their past.

​

Their stories stimulated me to write love letters to them. However, eventually, it turned out that these love letters are no longer only about imagination or comprehension of their histories. Indeed they are transformed into the introspection of our own selves, and also our expectation, doubt, belief and worry etc. on love.
