Artist Statement

​

This set of work includes a photograph and sound, it is created as a response of the work “Hope” by Po Po Hung.

​

The concept of Po Po’s work started from an abandoned pedestrian subway, of which it is generally repudiated by most of the people, they believe that it is resentful and dangerous.

 

On the contrary, Po Po didn’t abandon it; instead, she comprehended it in a unique way. She tried to discover if she could break through our conservative way of thinking.

​

Po Po’s idea reminds me of a quote I read in social networking: “In paradiso come all'inferno” (In paradise as in hell). I question if everything has both its good and bad side, that should be a paradox, but indeed they both exist together.
