Sleight

Artist Statement

This exhibition contains a series of diptych photographs. I would like to project myself onto the photographed ones (window display and environment), to rethink the value of oneself, and also on how to investigate the identity of oneself as well.

There is no definite time and space in each diptych, and there is no direct relationship between them too. Although the content between the photographs is not coherent, under their comparison and influence, it gives rise to an outcome of sleight and tension that the photographed ones interchange their subtle relationship. This situation is bewildered but somehow interrelated, and it reveals the conflicts between a consuming city, Hong Kong, and myself. Through these diptychs, I would like to response my feelings on the surrounding environment, and to rethink and revalue the identity of myself too.
